Yurii Kropotin

Vice-Speaker of the Altai Krai Legislative Assembly and member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. On February 5, 2026, his home was searched and he was detained in connection with a fraud case. According to investigators, he fictitiously employed a fellow party member as his assistant and embezzled the funds allocated for her salary. On February 7, Kropotin was placed under preventive measures, prohibiting him from engaging in certain activities. Fellow party members consider the case part of a political campaign. In November 2025, a similar case was opened against another Communist Party member of the Legislative Assembly, Liudmila Kliushnikova, and her assistant, Svetlana Kerber; they were also accused of fraud.
