Yulia Karelchenko

An activist from the Irkutsk region, chairwoman of the territorial public self-government of the village of Melnichnaya Pad. In the autumn of 2025, a libel case was brought against her. Karelchenko was accused of "collecting information defaming the honour and dignity of an individually undefined group of persons". Environmentalists believe that the prosecution is related to Karelchenko's activist activities.
