Biography

An activist for Emigration for Action and its successor Just Help, projects based in Georgia that provide medical, psychological, and social assistance to victims of war. She is a former member of Navalny’s headquarters in St. Petersburg. In 2021, criminal proceedings were initiated against her for the alleged theft of a mobile phone from a taxi driver. According to the SOTA news outlet, citing Margarita Kuchusheva, a consul for the Anti-War Committee, Emelianova was detained a month after the charges were filed; notably, she only saw the phone allegedly seized during the search for the first time during her interrogation.

Following the outbreak of the war, Emelianova left Russia. On 31 August 2025, she was detained in Kazakhstan and taken into custody pending a review of her extradition to the Russian Federation. On 10 February 2026, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan granted the request for Emelianova’s extradition.
