Roman Ponomarenko

A resident of Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine. In March 2024, he was detained and taken into custody as part of a case involving participation in a terrorist organization and undergoing training for the purpose of engaging in terrorist activity. The basis for the charges was his alleged service in the “Donbas” battalion during 2020-2021. On October 22, 2024, he was sentenced to 18 years in a strict-regime penal colony.
