Oleg Zhukov

A resident of the workers’ settlement of Mayna (Khakassia). On 26 January 2026, his home was searched. Authorities arrived while he was organising his son-in-law’s funeral. The following day, Zhukov was taken into custody on charges of organising the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement in the Jehovah’s Witnesses community. Members of this community are prosecuted under extremist legislation solely for religious activities — holding meetings and worship services, and recruiting new followers.
