Mark Serov

Resident of Kazan. On 6 April 2023 he was searched because of vandalism charges against him for the graffiti "No to War" and "some negative statements" about Vladimir Putin. Shortly before the search, Serov with other activists had registered a regional branch of the "Civil Initiative" party in Kazan. After the registration, a post with threats against them appeared in a local Telegram channel, presumably affiliated with the law enforcers. After the search Serov was taken to the police station, where they drew up a report under the administrative article on the organisation of an uncoordinated event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences) because of a civil memorial for the civilians of Dnieper who died under airstrikes. Serov was left overnight at the station until the trial.
