Ivan Blagodatskikh

Resident of Rostov-on-Don, college student. He was allegedly a member of the Revolutionary Labour Party. On 3 January 2023, he was detained in a taxi when he was travelling with two other defendants and their acquaintance towards the military recruitment office. The young men were found to be carrying Molotov cocktails. A case of attempted terrorist act was opened against all three, and they were taken into custody. The Blagodatskys were also accused of inciting another person to terrorist activity.

It is noteworthy that the investigation believes that the companion of the young men, Veronika Goretskaya, inspired them with the idea of setting fire to the military recruitment centre, helped them to study the location of the military recruitment centre, get a canister of petrol and called a taxi. She wrote a confession of guilt after the arrest and is a witness in the case. Goretskaya had previously helped the security services as a provocateur infiltrating the activist milieu.

"Mediazona" notes that the case includes an expert examination of some correspondence with Blagodatskyy about the arson of the military recruitment centre, although this correspondence was not in his phone.

On 24 April 2026, Blagodatskikh was sentenced to nine years in a strict regime colony.
