Biography
A resident of Pevek, (Chukotka) and an entrepreneur. He worked to promote local culture, develop tourism in the region, and draw officials’ attention to food shortages, the lack of qualified medical care and other problems.
In August 2025, the Investigative Committee of Russia said a criminal case had been opened against Ranav for desecrating a symbol of military glory. The charges stemmed from a 2022 post featuring an image of a St George ribbon with an obscene word written over it. The entrepreneur was placed under restrictions on certain activities as a preventive measure.

The case was initially sent to court in Chukotka, but later transferred to Moscow after investigators concluded that he had been there at the time of the post. On 18 February 2026, Ranav was sentenced to two years in a penal settlement.
