Baltatarova was detained again in Almaty on 2 November, when she was about to fly to Bishkek. This time she was familiarised with the official rulings, from which it follows that two cases of "fakes" under Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code were brought against her, and then she was released. On 7 October, the Ministry of Justice included Baltatarova in the register of mass media - "foreign agents". In 2024, a case of evasion from fulfilment of duties of a foreign agent was also brought against her. In March 2025, it became known that the cases were merged, and the journalist was charged with the 2nd part of the article on "fakes". On 16 July 2025 Baltatarova was sentenced in absentia to seven years in prison.
