Dmitry Bondarenko

He is a citizen of Ukraine, originally from the Kiev region. In 2022, the Supreme Court of the "Donetsk People's Republic" tried him on the charges of forcible seizure of power and training to commit terrorist activities. Probably due to improper jurisdiction, in March 2023, the Military Court of Appeal sent the case for a new hearing. On December 6, 2023, the Southern District Military Court delivered a sentence on this case for the second time. Neither the substance of the charges nor the details of the sentence are known.

On November 5, 2025, Bondarenko was convicted in a new criminal case, which concerned justification of terrorism. According to the version of the law enforcers, while in the cell of penal colony No. 8 in Buryatia, during the conversation with other prisoners, he expressed support for the Ukrainian paramilitary associations Azov and Right Sector and the Aidar community. The court sentenced him to thirteen and a half years in a strict regime colony cumulative with his punishment in the first case.
