Aslan Vakuev

A resident of Volgograd and the Imam-Khatib of the "Mahalla" religious organization. He was detained in July 2020 on charges of participation in an extremist organization due to his involvement with the Islamic movement Tablighi Jamaat. Its adherents are persecuted solely for their religious activities. On 12 September 2022, Vakuev was handed a two-year suspended sentence.
