Anzor Kakhunov

On 22 July 2021, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced the detention of seven people on suspicion of involvement in an attempted terrorist attack on a police station in Kislovodsk, Stavropol Region, in April of this year. Kakhunov was among them.

He was accused of participating in the activities of the religious organisation At-Takfir wal-Hijra. Later it became known that he was also charged with promoting terrorist activities. On 2 August 2024, Kakhunov was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony.
