Alexei Gorokhov

Alexey Gorokhov is a resident of the urban-type settlement of Maina, Khakassia. On 26 January 2026, his home was searched. The following day, he was remanded in custody on charges of organising the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Members of this community are prosecuted under anti-extremism legislation solely for their religious activities: holding meetings and worship services, and proselytising.
