A St Petersburg resident has been detained for 10 days over posts about a Communist Party project for election monitoring.

Oleg Petrov from St Petersburg has been found guilty under the protocol for displaying prohibited symbols (part 1, article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences) because of a post about the Communist Party’s “Red Control” project. This was reported by the city courts’ press service.

The reason was links to “all currently prohibited information resources,” according to the press service statement. In court, Petrov said he forgot to delete them. It was likely referring to links to Instagram and Facebook.
