Yabloko has been allowed to participate in the State Duma elections. It is the only party in Russia with an anti-war stance.

The Central Election Commission has unanimously registered Yabloko for the upcoming State Duma elections. The federal list includes 269 people, and a further 135 candidates are standing in single-mandate constituencies.

“For the first time in the last five years, Russian citizens have a real opportunity to vote for peace and freedom, to speak out for a ceasefire agreement in a legitimate and safe way. Thank you to everyone who believes in us, who believes in a peaceful, free future for Russia,” wrote party chair Nikolay Rybakov on his Telegram channel.

The party notes that the campaign will not be easy, but adds that they are ready to go all the way, “to demand peace and an end to repression”.
