A search is being carried out at the offices of Novaya Gazeta in Moscow. Lawyers are not being allowed into the building, according to a statement by the journalists themselves.

“At around 12 o’clock, officers from the security services arrived at the Moscow office of Novaya Gazeta wearing masks and began investigative actions. We do not know the reason—lawyers for the editorial team are not being allowed into the Potapovsky office, where some staff members are also present,” Novaya Gazeta noted.

According to RIA Novosti, a Novaya Gazeta author and former editor-in-chief of Sobesednik newspaper has now been detained and is being interrogated.
