In Krasnodar, a large city in southern Russia, a young woman who supported the religious procession against the blocking of Telegram and the mandatory use of the state messenger Max was detained. RusNews reports this.

According to law enforcement, the organisers of the action “were acting on instructions from Western intelligence agencies,” and the detained woman was found to have correspondence with other alleged participants. The outlet notes that the authorities want to charge her under extremism laws.

RusNews also published a video purportedly from a search at the woman’s flat. In the video, she asks the officers to call her mother.

The organisers of the religious procession had planned to hold a peaceful march and rallies on 12 March against the blocking of Telegram and in support of internet freedom.
