The 1st Western District Military Court has found 17-year-old Eva Bagrova guilty of justifying terrorism (Part 1, Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and assisting terrorist activities (Part 1, Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by Verstka, citing lawyer Dmitry Arevkin.
The verdict was issued back on 13 October 2025. Tomorrow, 22 January, the Military Court of Appeal will consider the appeal against the verdict.
- In December 2024, photos of the founder and a member of the Russian Volunteer Corps, Denis Kapustin and Alexei Levkin, appeared on a display board in a school in St Petersburg. They were accompanied by captions reading “Hero of Russia.” The RDC is designated as a terrorist organisation in Russia. Soon after, law enforcement detained Bagrova.
- At first she was sent to a pre-trial detention centre, but in March 2025 the court refused to extend her detention and Bagrova was released.
- Initially, the schoolgirl was only charged with justifying terrorism. By the time of the trial, a new charge—assisting terrorist activities—had been added. What this new charge was based on, according to law enforcement, is unknown.
