Comedian Aleksandr Gudkov fined over parody of SHAMAN’s song ‘I’m Russian’

The Krasnogorsk City Court has fined Aleksandr Gudkov 11,000 roubles (approximately US$120) under the article on inciting hatred (Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code), reports Mediazona.

The protocol against the comedian was drawn up over his 2022 video “I’m Narrow,” which Gudkov released as a parody of Shaman’s music video and song “I’m Russian.” In 2025, officers from Centre “E” sent the parody video to experts, who claimed that it contained “calls aimed against a group of people.”

• In 2022, immediately after the release of “I’m Narrow,” Gudkov faced criticism from State Duma deputies and pro-government bloggers. In 2024, following a report by deputy Aleksandr Khinshtein, cinemas cancelled screenings of the show “Dungeon Chicken Curry” because Gudkov was involved in it.
