Activist Aruna Arna from Gorno-Altaysk, accused of justifying terrorism (part 2, article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), became unwell in the pre-trial detention centre. This was reported by the activist’s mother, who believes the episode occurred “against a background of dystonia and heart failure.” Her video appeal appeared on the “Voice of Altai. Voice of Russia” Telegram channel.
“Due to stress, due to being separated from her children, and especially from her youngest, she had an episode,” the woman added.
Arna was examined by a medic. They prescribed her medication, which she has already begun taking.
The activist’s mother demanded her daughter’s release. She reminded people that the activist, who has three children, was sent to the detention centre when her youngest was still being breastfed.
- The activist has been in detention for more than two months. She was initially placed under certain restrictions, but these were tightened after she was accused of violating a ban on use. According to Arna, the reason for the criminal prosecution was her posts featuring the songs “Varshavyanka” and “The Internationale.”
- The activist has repeatedly criticised the authorities of the Altai Republic, and this summer spoke out against a municipal reform that abolished rural councils.
