The Istra City Court in Moscow Region has sentenced activist Pavel Krisevich to another 12 days in detention, his wife Elena told OVD-Info. This is the second consecutive time he has been detained under the article on petty hooliganism (part 1, article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences).
According to the activist’s statement (available to OVD-Info), he was released from the special detention centre in Istra on the evening of 13 December. Police officers drove him to the 'Rocket' monument, which is located several kilometres from the Istra police station. There, the police issued him a warning and escorted him to a bus stop.
At the bus stop, there were two men—one of them, Alexey Malyoletov, said he recognised Krisevich 'from videos online', demanded that he apologise and kneel before him. The activist refused to speak to him and planned to call a taxi to go home. Instead, police officers arrived at the bus stop and detained him once again. According to Krisevich, the man who approached him was drunk.
The case materials include a statement from the second man who was at the bus stop, Dmitry Suzdaltsev. He claimed that he had started the conflict and did not mention any comments by his acquaintance. Suzdaltsev alleges that the activist 'swore at [him] using crude, obscene language' and pushed him. He says that he called 112, believing Krisevich’s behaviour to be inappropriate.
It remains unclear exactly what the activist was ultimately accused of.
On 28 November, the activist was detained in Istra, a city near Moscow. At that time, he was accused of swearing in a public place and sentenced to 15 days’ detention.
The project 'Slovo Zashchite' reported that Krisevich planned to do a cowboy-themed photo shoot at a rocket-shaped monument in Istra. This image was intended to reference a character from Stanley Kubrick’s film 'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb'.

- In 2021, Krisevich performed an art protest on Red Square. He walked onto the square with a deactivated pistol, fired two shots into the air, then shot himself in the head and collapsed. Before this, he read a manifesto against political repression. As a result of this action, a criminal hooliganism case was opened against him. Krisevich was sentenced to five years in a general-regime penal colony. In January 2025, he was released.
