On Red Square, “Left Front” activists Viktor and Natalya Astakhov were detained. Leonid Razvozzhayev, another activist from the movement, told OVD-Info about the incident.

Security forces claim that the detainees handed a newspaper to someone, which included a reprint of an article about the court case against Sergei Udaltsov. The activists had their personal belongings confiscated and were taken to a police station. An OVD-Info lawyer has gone to provide assistance.

10 November: On 8 November, Viktor and Natalya Astakhov were each sentenced to 15 days in detention. Their lawyer, Alan Kachmazov, reported this. The activists were found guilty of disobeying the police (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences).

  • In July 2014, as part of the “Bolotnaya case,” the Moscow City Court sentenced Sergei Udaltsov and Leonid Razvozzhayev to four years and six months in a general regime penal colony. They were accused of organising mass riots on 6 May 2012 at Bolotnaya Square, and of preparing to organise mass riots in various cities across the country. In addition, Razvozzhayev faced charges of illegal border crossing. At the end of 2019, the European Court of Human Rights awarded Udaltsov compensation of nine thousand euros (about US$9,800) due to violations of his right to a fair trial and freedom of assembly.
