An elderly man was detained at Levashovo Cemetery in St Petersburg for wearing a pro-Ukrainian badge, reported “Bumaga.”
The badge on the jacket of the detained man, Mikhail Pushnitsky, was in the colours of the Ukrainian flag with the inscription “Peace to Ukraine.” Before detaining him, law enforcement officers spent half an hour persuading him to remove the badge, and after he refused, they took him to Police Station No. 49.
Mikhail declined assistance from OVD-Info.
Today, events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repression are taking place at Levashovo Cemetery: laying flowers and reading out names.
19:09 The Vyborgsky District Court fined Mikhail Pushnitsky 30,000 roubles (approx. US$320) under the article on “discrediting the army” (part 1, article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences). A friend of his told OVD-Info about this.
