The court found Aleksandra Maroti guilty of desecrating the Russian coat of arms (Article 329 of the Criminal Code) and of hooliganism motivated by hatred (point b, part 1, Article 213 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the court’s press office.
In June, a video circulated on social media showing 24-year-old Maroti burning a Russian passport. On camera, she says she decided to burn the document because she was exhausted from work: “Come on, come after me.”
On 16 June, she was detained. After that, the court sent the young woman to a pretrial detention centre.
