Alexandr Orlov was detained as he left the detention centre in the Leningrad region and taken to Police Station No. 76 in St Petersburg, reports Bumaga. The detention is linked to a new charge of ‘discrediting the army’ (Art. 20.3.3 of the Administrative Offences Code).
Tomorrow, the administrative detentions of the vocalist of the band Naoko and drummer Vladislav Leontiev are due to end. On the same day, the court will consider a charge against Naoko under the same 'discrediting' article.
The musicians were detained for their street performances with anti-war songs and works by ‘foreign agents.’ The court remanded them in custody under the article on organising mass simultaneous presence of citizens in a public place (Art. 20.2.2(1) of the Administrative Offences Code). Since then, artists in various cities have performed in support of them.
22:07 Naoko, vocalist of ‘StopTime,’ was also taken from the detention centre to Police Station No. 76, reports Slovo Zashchite, citing sources close to the young woman. She and a guitarist, who was detained again after being released, are both to be held at the station overnight, even though Naoko was only meant to leave the detention centre tomorrow.
“By [morning] the police will rewrite the returned protocol accusing the musicians of ‘discrediting the army,’ after which they will be taken to the Kuibyshevsky District Court,” the outlet reports.
It is unknown whether the third member of the group has also been taken from the detention centre.
28 October A new charge was brought against StopTime guitarist Alexandr Orlov under the article on “organising mass simultaneous presence of citizens in a public place,” which provides for administrative arrest.
The project ‘Slovo Zashchite’ says that today police will be rewriting the protocol accusing the musicians of ‘discrediting the army,’ after which they will take them to the Kuibyshevsky District Court.
15:06 The StopTime vocalist was fined because of performing Monetochka’s song “You’re a Soldier,” but was not released, reports Mediazona.
The judge found Diana “Naoko” Loginova guilty of discrediting the Russian army. The 18-year-old singer did not plead guilty.
“My activity as a street musician is aimed at sharing music I like,” Naoko told the court, explaining that she chooses her repertoire solely out of a liking for the music and denies that the group’s concerts are intended for any “political purpose.”
She was escorted from the Lenin District Court in St Petersburg by officers: one security officer told Bumaga that she was being taken to the station for another protocol to be drawn up.
Today, RIA Novosti reported that new administrative charges were filed against Diana Loginova and guitarist Alexandr Orlov under the article on organising mass simultaneous presence of citizens in a public place.
16:44 Naoko will spend another night in the police station, reports Bumaga.
According to Mediazona, after returning from court to Station 76, the young woman felt unwell and an ambulance was called.
The medics did not hospitalise Naoko, only examined her and gave her medication, reports SOTAvision. The detainee’s mother said she felt ill as a result of stress.
18:22 Another charge has been brought against Naoko, reports Mediazona. She is again accused of organising mass simultaneous presence of citizens in a public place (Art. 20.2.2(1) of the Administrative Offences Code) over one of the street performances. No other details are known.
The outlet also writes that medics who came to the police station gave the young woman an injection and she felt better.
29 October 15:15 The Smolninsky District Court of St Petersburg has sentenced Naoko (Diana Loginova) to 13 days’ administrative detention under two articles: organising simultaneous presence of citizens in a public place (Art. 20.2.2(1) of the Administrative Offences Code) and petty hooliganism (Art. 20.1 of the Administrative Offences Code).
The periods of detention imposed on Naoko under the two charges are not cumulative. An OVD-Info lawyer clarifies: “Administrative detention terms imposed in different cases are not added together, but are served simultaneously. So, even though the court imposed 13 days for each of two administrative charges, Naoko should be released after 13 days, not 26.”
The same court imposed 13 days’ detention on Alexandr Leontiev, who was also found guilty under Art. 20.2.2 of the Administrative Offences Code.
This was reported by SOTAvision.
