SVO veteran Mikhail Koryakin was arrested for attempting to organise a protest in Yakutia, a region in the Russian Far East. The court ruling was highlighted on the court’s website by the publication 7×7.
Mikhail Koryakin tried to organise a protest against amendments to the republic’s constitution and for the resignation of the region’s head, Aisen Nikolaev. No one attended the protest, and the amendments were passed in all three readings.
Despite this, the Yakutsk City Court sentenced Koryakin to 10 days of administrative arrest under the article on organising an unauthorised rally (Part 2, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences). He was charged over a video calling on people to join the protest.
