Police took a young man named Denis to the Arbat police station, reports RusNews.

He came out onto Stary Arbat with a placard that read: “Music is not a crime.”

Denis managed to tell journalists that he wanted to support musicians who performed songs by “foreign agents”:

“I really want all of us to keep our humanity, to keep our freedom to perform what we like, sing what we like, and say what we want to say. Freedom to the band ‘Stoptime.’ Freedom to Yevgeny Mikhailov.”

Last week in St Petersburg, participants of “Stoptime” who performed anti-war songs and tracks by “foreign agents” were arrested on administrative charges. Today in Yekaterinburg, a major city in the Urals, musician Yevgeny Mikhailov (Zhenya Radost), who had performed in their support, was detained.

00:02 According to OVD-Info, the detainee is being kept overnight at the police station. It is not yet clear which specific administrative article he is being charged under.
