The Ministry of Justice has declared four individuals and a project that covered detentions at protest rallies as “foreign agents.” The agency announced this on its official website.
The following have been added to the updated register:
- Roman Alekhin—a pro-Russian war correspondent and Z-blogger who covered military actions in Ukraine. According to the outlet URA.RU, a number of media and other war correspondents stated that he had been involved in money laundering linked to providing assistance to military personnel;
- Sergey Erlich—a Moldovan and Russian historian, publicist, and the author of several books on Russian history and the Decembrists;
- Elena Rykovtseva—journalist and editor, presenter at Radio Svoboda (Radio Liberty);
- Ivan Vostrikov—former coordinator of the “Navalny headquarters” in Tyumen, a city in western Siberia, who emigrated from Russia;
- Avtozak LIVE—a project that covered mass protests across Russia and the detentions of their participants. In early September, the project announced that it was ending its activities.
